Alice! is quite a popular comic figure based on ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.’ Starting 2nd of July, this modern taken on an epic tale is sure to delight you with wonderful performance at the Charles Luney Auditorium. This multi-media production will incorporate large-scale dance and music numbers, and favourite characters of Carroll will be brought to life through spectacular costumes. Come along and track Alice down the rabbit hole into a world of fantasy, fun and colour.
Model Expo
On the 7th and 8th of July, an exhibition of model kit hobbies and sets from across Hawkes Bay will be put on display in the hall of Napier Boy’s High School. You will find radio-controlled trucks in the hall, with the board games, war games, toy soldiers, model castles, doll houses, model cars, and model railways surrounding the walls. All events will focus on active participation, so that families and kids can join in for this fundraising event.
North Shore Rotary Book Fair
One of the largest 2nd hand book fair is happening in Northcote, Auckland from 13th to 15th of July, with an opportunity to get the best deals from your favourite author. There will be entertainment for your little ones as well, on the following day. One can also indulge in some charity work by donating books, in case they have a few. Drop-off bins would be kept at respective service stations for you to hand over the books that you may not need anymore.
Wizarding Academy Express
This 14th of July, the Wellington Railway Station will turn into a wizarding academy. The Wizarding Express or the Magical Steam Locomotive of the school will take the professors of the academy in quest of new magical talent. It’s time to grab your owl and unveil your wizarding talent, as you join the faculty on this epic journey. This 1-hour interactive experience will witness you boarding the Steam train and participating in a wide spectrum, activities, magical lessons and more. Get an insight into spell casting and see you if you receive invitation at the conclusion of the journey. The railway carriage will be your house, and you will be joined by professors and captain for magic and fun.
The Allusionist
Fascinating and hilarious in equal measure, The Allusionist will be making its first appearance in Wellington on the 16th of July at the National Library, presented by Pirate & Queen. This is going to be a language adventure, being one of the most educational and funniest podcasts around. It’s all about the English language and the words, with episodes just under 20 minutes or so. Your kids are certainly going to enjoy the show!
CRC Speedshow 2018
On the 21st and 22nd of July, it’s time to fuel your passion for motorsport, bikes, cars and automotive products, as the most exciting and diverse automotive event will take place at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland. This is the twelfth edition of a spectacular celebration displaying the coolest, fastest and finest race cars, muscle cars, wild hot rods, motorsport celebrities and custom creation from across the country. Dynamo
The award-winning magician Dynamo is coming to New Zealand this July, for his Live Tour ‘Seeing Is Believing’ at the TSB Bank Arena on the 23rd and 24th of July. He is a master in magical art and has made connections with an audience who has truly taken him to hearts. It is going to be one stellar production show, with an entertainment of the highest order. His real name is Steven Frayne and he became one of the most famous magicians, thanks to his TV series ‘Magician Impossible’ that has been aired in more than 180 territories throughout the world.
The Spiral Snow Express
On the 28th of July, board the Spiral Snow Express for an exciting adventure, as you are taken through the Rangitikei & Manawatu areas to your destination of either Raurimu, Ohakune and National Park. Venture though numerous viaducts, enjoying the mountain vistas of the central plateau and enjoying the landscape of the Rangitikei river Valley. At Raurimu, the locomotive will be changing ends, and hauling the train back up the spiral. The train will be comprising of a convoy of classic red cars. You can also soak up the views by standing on the open viewing platform.
